Aggression in adolescents is very common phenomenon in the current society. It is important for the peer educators and parents to understand the circumstances behind this issue since it is relatively stable in early life, but later continues to bring in a complicated lifestyle . This may change with time as the individual progresses in his or her life. This can yield to some very negative outcomes, especially cases like delinquencies, drug abuse, maladjustments, poor grades, academic difficulties, problems of conduction, school dropouts, suspension, and expulsion. In addition to these, the individual may experience verbal and physical aggression, which is usually accompanied by oppositional and very deviant behaviour (Van de Weil et al, 2003).
These are considered the first signs and symptoms of childhood psychiatric disorders. These behaviours have a prevalence rates of over 12% in most populations of the world. The rates are even higher regarding the males in various societal settings in the world. There is, therefore, the need to address and combat the negative effects of aggression at early life stages before an individual becomes outcast in the immediate society.
Characteristics of Aggression in Adolescents
These behaviours can vary from simple problems with only some slight twist in the emotional regulatory hormones in the teenager’s body to complex situations, which could be manipulative and very severe. Some common characteristics of aggression among the adolescents, but not limited to the following, include: Rumor starting, exclusion of others in very important discussions at dealings, persistent argument, and bullying, especially in schools. These activities may be accompaned by pushing, threatening, verbal abuse, and back striking in anger. People may also use some special arm twisting tactics to achieve their desires and also engage in very abusive and physical fights.
Physical activities are usually rare in the event of this menace. However, the minimal cases of verbal aggression lead to the development of very delinquent behaviours among the youth and adolescents in general. This would be later manifested as serious problems in the lives of such individuals.
Causes of Aggression Among the Adolescents

The teachers play a vital role in the daily monitoring of the adolescent students. The head teacher sets directions in the school. These directions are for both teachers and students. Each category here will have rules and regulations to follow including prohibiting consumption of alcohol. He provides a detailed structured framework for the school programme. He ensures the delivery of the same programmes within the laid-down procedures of the Ministry of Education. He also coordinates the activities of the teachers, counselors and other staff in the school.
Parents have a noble role by nurturing the students. They employ the communication method to talk to their children about the school issues. This comes when there are some issues affecting the student in school in a negative way. They also indulge the discussion of the assigned homeworks with their children. The main role of a student is to seek information whenever in need. They must also seek their parent’s moral guidance.

It can be prevented through a number of ways and mechanisms. This will require community-based efforts to monitor activities of teh youngsters and decrease the access of the youth to alcohol. The drinking among the youth can be prevented through the involvement of several stakeholders behind the growth and development of a child. These would include individuals like teachers, parents, religious groups, relatives, guardians, and principals among others. Tough rules should also be put in place by the government and other lobby groups to prohibit the consumption of alcohol before an attainment of responsible age. Advertisements relating some important life activities to alcohol should also be banned in the media. The community-based workers should be well-trained to deal with the deeper issues concerning aggressiveness among adolescents depending on the situation and the locality therein (Lochman and Wells, 2002).
The world prides itself in having a varied composition of different races and tribes. There are several race groups as follows. The Whites, African Americans, Hispanics and Africans among others. Due to this varied composition in the cultures of the world, there tends to be a pull towards which race is superior to the others. This is also available in the intelligence testing among different nationalities. Some races show high aggressive behaviours as compared to their peers. Researches in the American population reveal that the Whites score much above the rest of the minority in this sector.
