One chapter followed by another, are dedicated to the same aim – to reveal real life of the Prophet Muhammad, to show his life in all its aspects. The author shows all the troubles that happened during the Muslim Prophet’s life, underlining very important and true statement – Muhammad lived and died as a man completely devoted to Allah (his life proves that he loved God above all, he cherished his mercy, his grace and love to the whole mankind).
My overall opinion of the book is completely positive. I really liked it for the simple language that can be easily understood by everyone, even by a little kid.
When I picked up this book, I realized that some information would be known to me. In spite of this I expected to get to know the author’s interpretation and his thoughts on this matter.
To be honest, now when I have read this book, my expectations are met.
For example, I knew before that Abraham was the father of two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, who are known to be the founders of the 3 different religions – Jewish, Christian and Muslim. And it was very pleasant to read that the author of the book writes about it in his own original manner – that really proves the author’s talent as a narrator.
When speaking about the thesis of the book, I should say it is not much complicated, though it is very important in the whole context of the book.
The thesis is – Muhammad lived his life not as a prideful Prophet but he served God and helped the others to understand the God’s will.
This thesis is shown in the different contexts in the second half of the book. The author shows the circumstances that made Muhammad who he was, and the time before his date of birth is also described. The life of one of the main Muslim prophets was full of meaning – he lived as a simple man but his mission was not quite simple. The thesis formulated by the author is developed through the whole context of the book. The evidences about the thesis are that Muhammad thought not about himself first but also about the people, about his nation. He tried to explain them that they should do well only, not evil, so that Allah will help them in what they do and not punish them.
The book is organized in a very convenient way for the readers. One can choose what to read if he/she has no time to read the whole book though it is strongly recommended to read the whole book. It can be very interesting not only for Muslims (though it is about Muhammad’s life), but for the representatives of the other religions and nations. The truth is that when reading this book it is very interesting to get to know who Muhammad and his ancestors were, how they lived and how they loved God. So everyone did it in his own way. For example, Abraham loved God so much that he was ready to sacrifice his son. Muhammad was ready to preach the God’s will among the people.
In spite of this, it is not clear at last if people were ready to accept new religion, as they prayed to different gods (mainly idols, made of wood, stone, gold and silver) improved by their ancestors. From one generation to another idols were their gods, and prophets of Allah tried to change the traditions. It was not quite simple task as people had got used to pray their gods though they were made by the hands of their own; they were not like the one and mighty God who rules the Universe. Beliefs are not easy to be changed very fast. Centuries should pass to change customs and beliefs. In spite of this, Muhammad managed to become the leader of people as he improved new religion among them that survived throughout the centuries.
The material in the book comes together very effectively. And it is very important for the readers who expect to find something new behind the lines of the text.
The book has a great influence on the readers. It helps them to draw conclusions by themselves as the arguments go along with evidences very closely.
Everyone can have his/her own opinion about this book. The facts represented by the author are of great importance from the historical point of view. The book should be interesting not only for historians but for those all who cherish historical books and would like to know more about one of the most popular religions of the world and about Prophet Muhammad.
