The development in technological advancements, in the world today, has made many changes that have helped human beings undertake their duties quickly, effectively and adequately. Wireless technologies have helped human beings improve their communication and socialization (Entner, 2008). Wireless technologies have transformed human life into a desirable one. However, it has also caused negative consequences to the society with regard to security related issues, health issues, social issues and business related issues (Kim, Mims, & Holmes, 2006). This paper researches into the negative effects of wireless technology to security, health, social and business related issues by reviewing several documented evidence in books and articles. It then narrows the research to the effects of wireless technology to security issues and suggests possible solutions to the problem.
Throughout the paper, the effects of wireless technology to the society have been researched and discussed in detail. This has been done by closely looking at the effects of wireless technology to security, health, social and business related issues (United States computer emergence readiness team (US-CERT), 2001). It has outlined the negative effects of wireless technology to human health, its social impacts to the society and its consequences on business purposes (Council on Health Promotion 2011). In a focused way, the paper has concentrated on the negative effects of wireless technology to security issues specifically dealing with issues of privacy and theft. Intruders and unauthorized users bypass security systems and firewall, and get access into wireless networks. They violate privacy of authorized users, insert viruses, block authorized users, and steal important information from the wireless network systems. Some of the solutions suggested for the problem include constant change of passwords and email details, update of software and patches, use of encryption and authentication tools, use of strong antivirus and WEP and WPA applications among others (Rash, 2010). Therefore, the paper is an informative piece that shows the negative effects of wireless technology and the solutions that can be applied to adequately address the effects.
